whataboutjoy:

What is more valuable than gold?
People.

Also, this principle applied to coffee and other imports. And this principle applied to paying a little more for fresh, sustainable food from farms in your (greater) community that only get 7% of profit when big companies control them and therefore often live in poverty. For all other items where there are options, USED, FAIR TRADE, LOCAL OR YOU PROBABLY DON’T EVEN NEED IT in the first place. (This applies to people who can have the time and resources to seek out alternatives to Kroger/Walmart/department stores, which is most anyone who reads things I disperse on the internet. Definitely not every person in the US bears exactly the same burden because there are not the same options for everyone and they should not be made to feel lesser for it.)
