Females for president

Today I attended a Senate session. There were some elementary kids on a tour of the Statehouse, so I irresistibly halted, smiled and waved. A little girl asked me if I was trying to become the president one day, because I had power heels. Concerned about this misconception of power (and knowledge of fashion terms at age 7ish), I responded, in a GENTLE voice, “I hope if a woman is president, no one focuses on her shoes”. The little girl’s face uncomfortably filled with most of the blood in her body (just like mine, as usual) so in immediate remorse for my retort, I gave her my voting sticker from yesterday. Then I agreed to sign her flier while I explained that I don’t matter. She replied, “I think everyone matters”.

23-year-old vs. 7-year-old= political tie.
